NFL Schedule 2010 Preview
The NFL schedule 2010 is a long, 17 week affair. Yet the NFL schedule 2010 has a lot of big games along the way, starting with the NFL schedule 2010 opener. The first matchup of the year pairs two teams that went to overtime for a shot at the Super Bowl last season. But after the Saints and Vikings have their flashy opener tonight, there are still many more showdowns left to go. Starting on Sunday, the NFL schedule 2010 has obvious games to circle on the calendar – and some that could be circled later on.
Sunday’s docket of games has battles like the Colts vs Texans, Packers vs Eagles, and the Cowboys vs Redskins at night. On Monday, the Jets and Ravens have a revealing clash, as the last two AFC runner ups attempt to take the next step.
Once the opening week is finished, the NFL schedule 2010 will settle into the weekly grind. Week 2 has the Manning brothers square off in Indianapolis, after the Patriots and Jets resume their rivalry. In Week 4, Donovan McNabb makes an early return to Philadelphia, with Brett Favre returning to face the Jets in Week 5 on Monday night.
On the next week, the NFL schedule 2010 features the return of Ben Roethlisberger, as the Steelers host the Browns. Favre then returns to Green Bay in Week 7, and faces Tom Brady and the Patriots right afterwards.
Once the NFL schedule 2010 reaches the halfway point, the run to the playoffs can really begin. By then, teams that no one expected to contend may be leading the standings, so games that aren’t being highlighted now could become huge later.
For now, highlighted games in the second half include the Colts vs Patriots in Week 11, the Saints vs Cowboys on Thanksgiving, and the Jets vs Patriots on Monday night in Week 13. To wrap things up, Roger Goodell made sure that the last week has nothing but divisional games, so a few de facto division championship games could be at hand.
